Job summary

Allied Universal in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Security Officer - Full Time Unarmed Patrol Emergency Support. You will monitor campuses, deter incidents, and provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

This role requires 18+ and a high school diploma; CPR preferred; background check; strong computer/tablet skills; and a Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–3:00 PM schedule. Pay is $18.87 per hour and Allied Universal offers paid training and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members by carrying out security procedures and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with policies, reporting suspicious behavior and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, student-related concerns, medical situations, and critical events in a calm, professional manner following established procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain communication with site contacts, Allied Universal leadership, and emergency responders as needed.

What You'll Do

Minimum Requirements

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
