Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Computer Reporting in Ashburn, VA. You will protect students, staff, and visitors, patrol facilities, and report security concerns while providing exceptional customer service.

Position type is full time with a daytime schedule and $18.87 per hour pay. Duties include incident reporting, access monitoring, and collaboration with school personnel and authorities.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include: comfort using a computer or tablet, CPR certification preferred, guard card or license preferred, customer service experience preferred, age 18+ (21+ for armed roles), high school diploma or equivalent, background check, drug screen, licensing as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community by following security procedures and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, medical concerns, disturbances, and critical situations calmly.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and restricted areas; report issues to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports and communicate with school administration and responders as needed.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, medical concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established school and district protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, bus loops, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and restricted areas; report unusual conditions, hazards, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports while maintaining professional communication with school administration, staff, law enforcement, and emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
