Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer in De Soto, KS. You will patrol interior and exterior areas, assist with access control, and deliver excellent customer service to employees and visitors at a technology/telecom location.

The role includes reporting, incident response, and maintaining logs, with shift schedules across days and nights. Training and advancement opportunities are provided within a dynamic security team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with access control and badge systems preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors by following site-specific procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including offices, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and support visitor management by checking credentials and maintaining logs.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies calmly and in accordance with procedures; contact leadership or emergency services as needed.
• Prepare clear activity reports and communicate observations and maintenance concerns to site contacts and management.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Assistance in De Soto, KS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, help to deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, assist with access control, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by following site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including office spaces, parking areas, entry points, and the business perimeter, to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and support visitor management procedures by checking credentials, maintaining required logs, and reporting access concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following emergency response procedures and contacting Allied Universal leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
