Job summary

Allied Universal in De Soto, KS is seeking a Security Officer in a Full Time Patrol Readiness role to monitor and protect a high-tech site. You will provide courteous customer service, conduct patrols, manage access control, and respond to incidents while upholding company policies.

The position requires 18+ years old, high school diploma or equivalent, and passing a background check and drug screen. Training is provided with shift-based hours and the ability to work nights.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate ability to conduct regular on-site patrols and maintain situational awareness.
• Operate access control systems and verify authorized personnel where required.
• Be capable of using a computer or tablet for documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as directed by site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office areas, building perimeters, parking facilities, and other assigned locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, maintain required visitor records, and report unusual activity or policy violations according to site procedures.
• Prepare accurate activity reports and incident documentation, communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts, and support a professional environment for all occupants.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs. is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
