Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, seeks a Security Officer (Unarmed) for a full-time role in Sterling, VA. You will patrol, monitor access, and respond to incidents at a technology and media location, providing customer service to employees and visitors.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as required by law.
• Drug screen as permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and guests at a technology and media location by following site-specific security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of offices, common areas, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor/contractor authorization, and report irregularities to site personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and report/escalate per protocols.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation and communicate observations to site leadership.

Pay Rate: $23.11 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Thur: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Fri: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sat: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or guests at a technology and media location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of offices, common areas, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and report irregularities to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation protocols.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation, and communicate observations or security-related concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
