Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer in De Soto, Kansas. You will monitor and protect client sites across Tech/Media/Telecom sectors, perform patrols, control access, and maintain a visible security presence to deter incidents.

This full-time role requires strong customer service skills, reliability, and the ability to follow procedures. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old for unarmed roles.
• Background check will be conducted per federal, state and local laws.
• Valid driver's license only for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations calmly and following emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, offices, parking areas, entry points and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials; maintain visitor and contractor logs; report unusual activity to leadership.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and communicate professionally with client representatives and responders.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, office areas, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials as directed, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and report unusual activity to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, maintain required activity documentation, and communicate professionally with client representatives, employees, and emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
