Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer in Roanoke, VA to provide customer service and protect client sites across manufacturing and industrial locations. This role emphasizes visible presence, rounds, and proactive interaction with employees and visitors.

You will monitor access, respond to alarms, and deliver professional, courteous service while following site procedures. This full-time position includes training and growth opportunities; CPR and badge experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screening required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, students, faculty, staff, and contractors while enforcing site policies and emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations; report issues.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity per site procedures to deter unauthorized access.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner and document activities.
• Prepare clear reports and maintain communication with leadership and site contacts.

As a Security Officer Unarmed Customer Service Patrol in Roanoke, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a manufacturing and industrial location, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will conduct routine rounds, respond to alarms and access-control needs, support badge processes, and deliver outstanding customer service. Pay Rate: $19.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Tue 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Wed 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Fri 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sun 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, students, faculty, staff, and contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations, reporting unusual conditions or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, helping to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain communication with Allied Universal leadership and site contacts regarding daily activities and incidents.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
