Job summary

Allied Universal, Roanoke, VA’s security provider, seeks a Security Officer – Full Time Patrol Access Control. You will protect client sites across logistics and distribution, maintain a visible presence, and support access control while delivering courteous service to employees, visitors, and leadership.

You will monitor entry points, perform routine patrols, document incidents, and follow site procedures to deter security-related incidents.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Guard Card or license preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds preferred.
• Unarmed roles: 18+ years; armed roles: 21+ years.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations calmly.
• Conduct regular/unarmed patrols of the facility, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor entry/exit points, verify authorized personnel and visitors, and maintain logs/reports.
• Observe and report hazards or policy violations to site contacts and leadership.

Security Officer Full Time Patrol Access Control in Roanoke, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control activities. You will deliver exceptional customer service while communicating professionally with employees, visitors, and leadership. Pay Rate: $16.20 / Hour

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized personnel and visitors, and maintain required logs and reports.
• Observe and report hazards, damaged property, suspicious activity, and policy violations to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Possession of a Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
