Job summary

Allied Universal Roanoke, VA is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Access Control Patrol to safeguard clients across Retail/Malls and similar settings. You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and support access control with a visible presence and customer-focused service.

You will document observations using our technology, coordinate with site leadership, and respond calmly to incidents.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail and mall locations, including sales areas, common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter spaces.
• Monitor access points and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and security-related incidents according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders when needed.
• Complete accurate activity reports and communicate observations to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
