Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer, Full Time Unarmed Patrol in New York, NY. You will provide customer service to shoppers and staff while patrolling retail spaces, maintaining a visible presence to deter incidents, and assisting with access control and incident reporting.

Pay is $18.48–$19.48 per hour with a daytime schedule and opportunities for growth, training, and benefits within a collaborative, supportive team culture that prioritizes people and safety.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Loss prevention experience preferred.
• State, county, and/or city-issued security license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background checks and drug testing as required by law.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Customer Relations in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and assist with loss prevention awareness. You will deliver exceptional customer service, communicate professionally with shoppers and staff, and respond to concerns with integrity. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to shoppers, team members, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, receiving areas, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor for unusual activity, policy concerns, and potential hazards, and report observations to appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Assist with access control, visitor interactions, and documentation of incidents and security-related activities in accordance with site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• A state, county, and/or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
