Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Incident Observation in New York, NY to safeguard clients across government locations and facilities. You will monitor entrances, patrol interiors and exteriors, and report incidents with diligence.

This role requires a NYS Security Guard License and at least one year of security experience. Daytime shifts are available; comprehensive training and benefits are provided by Allied Universal.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation and drug screen required by employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff at a government service location by carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor activity, and report unusual conditions or policy violations to site personnel.
• Respond to incidents calmly and professionally, following emergency procedures as directed.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain clear communication with leadership and responders.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff at a government service location by carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations, to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor activity, and report unusual conditions, hazards, or policy violations to appropriate site personnel.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following emergency response procedures as directed.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain clear communication with Allied Universal leadership, site staff, and emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
