Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer at an upscale New York food market. You will provide excellent customer service, patrol assigned areas, monitor for risks, and report observations to leadership. You’ll support access control and maintain a safe, orderly shopping environment in a high-visibility retail setting.

Day/evening shifts are available, with full-time hours. Prior security or licensing is preferred, and you must meet age and background screening requirements.

As a Security Officer at an Upscale Food Market conducting patrolsin NEW YORK, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate professionally with shoppers and team members, and support access control and loss prevention efforts. What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, team members, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, receiving areas, parking areas, and the perimeter, as assigned.
• Monitor for unusual activity, policy violations, and potential hazards, and report observations to appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and escalation protocols.
• Assist with access control, visitor interactions, and maintaining a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized activity and supports an orderly shopping environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
