Job summary

Massanutten Resort in Virginia is seeking a Security Officer for the second shift (2 p.m.–10 p.m.). This full-time role offers 40 hours per week with a pay rate of $14.00 per hour, weekly pay.

You will greet staff and guests, enforce resort rules, monitor access points, respond to emergencies, document incidents, and coordinate with other departments to maintain safety and security across the property.

Qualifications

• Current/Valid driver's license.
• Customer service and communication skills.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Physical demands include long periods sitting, standing, walking, and occasional running.

Responsibilities

• Greet employees, owners, visitors and contractors in a friendly and professional manner.
• Inform owners of and enforce Resort rules and regulations in a friendly and professional manner.
• Monitor and authorize entrance to all persons attempting to gain access to the Resort to guard against theft and maintain security.
• Take predetermined action and render first aid in emergencies such as accident, fire and illness.
• Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
• Prepare verbal and written reports.
• Maintain communication with other departments on the resort.

Description

• Greets employees, owners, visitors and contractors in an appropriately friendly and professional manner,
• Informs owners of and enforces Resort rules and regulations in an appropriately friendly and professional manner,
• Monitors and authorizes entrance to all persons attempting to gain access to the Resort to guard against theft and maintain security of Resort,
• Take predetermined action and renders first aid in emergencies such as accident, fire and illness,
• Answers alarms and investigates disturbances,
• Prepares reports, both verbal and written,
• Maintains communication with other departments on the resort.

Minimum Requirements

• Current/Valid Drivers license
• Customer service, communication and interpersonal skills,
• Team player
• Extended periods of sitting while working the gate and patrolling in vehicle,
• Extended periods of walking and standing while responding to owner inquiries or emergency situations,
• Occasional running while responding to emergency situations,
• Physical requirements are subject to change based upon the situation that the employee responds to.
• Weekends and holidays required.
