Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a full-time security professional in Barstow, CA to protect visitors and courthouse personnel while enforcing site policies. You will screen people and belongings, assist with access controls, and respond calmly to incidents, logging actions accurately.

Ideal candidates have at least two years of security experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Qualifications

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, court personnel, attorneys, jurors, and other members of the public while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies.
• Screen persons and belongings entering the courthouse using screening equipment and established procedures; identify prohibited items and direct individuals regarding entry requirements.
• Maintain orderly access points by verifying authorization, monitoring visitor flow, and providing clear directions to appropriate courthouse areas.
• Respond to incidents, prohibited-item discoveries, and emergency situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and follow established response protocols.
• Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and promptly in accordance with site procedures.
