Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Front Desk Alarm Operator in Washington, DC to greet students, staff and visitors, monitor access points, cameras and alarms, and provide courteous customer service while following site procedures.

This front desk security role offers daytime shifts on a educational campus with a pay rate of $21.15 per hour. Minimum requirements include 2+ years of security experience and a high school diploma or GED; CPR/First Aid and alarm panel experience are preferred.

What You'll Do:

• Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or guests while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies at an educational location.
• Staff the front desk, greet and direct visitors, maintain visitor logs, and verify access credentials in accordance with site procedures.
• Monitor access points, cameras, alarms, and/or communications systems; report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and security-related incidents to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Assist with visitor management, delivery coordination, and general front-desk support while maintaining a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized access.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
