Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Front Desk Alarm Operator in Washington, DC to greet visitors, verify access and monitor alarms and cameras while delivering excellent customer service in an educational setting.

Role requires 2+ years security experience, a HS diploma, and availability for Sat/Sun 7:00 AM–3:00 PM. Pay rate is $21.15/hour; benefits and shift flexibility are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of security-related experience.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors and guests while following site procedures.
• Staff the front desk, greet visitors, verify access credentials and maintain logs.
• Monitor access points, cameras, alarms, and systems; report issues to relevant personnel.
• Respond calmly to incidents and emergencies per established procedures.
• Assist with visitor management, deliveries and general front-desk support.

Pay Rate: $21.15 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Sun: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or guests while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies at an educational location.
• Staff the front desk, greet and direct visitors, maintain visitor logs, and verify access credentials in accordance with site procedures.
• Monitor access points, cameras, alarms, and/or communications systems; report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and security-related incidents to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Assist with visitor management, delivery coordination, and general front-desk support while maintaining a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized access.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
