Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Washington, DC. This role provides reliable, fixed-anchor hours with the option to earn more by picking up additional shifts. You will support campus safety by handling calls, monitoring systems, and patrolling the campus environment.

Requirements include a minimum of 2 years in security, HS diploma or GED, and a valid guard card or license preferred; CPR certification is a plus and background checks apply.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security experience.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency responses.
• Receive, prioritize, and dispatch calls for service, alarms, and incidents with accurate logs.
• Monitor security systems, cameras, alarms, and access control; relay information to responders and campus contacts.
• Respond to incidents calmly, following established protocols and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols around campus buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas as assigned.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Dispatch Communications in Washington, DC, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.15 / Hour

• Security Experience - 2+ Years
• Client Requires Proof of HS Diploma/GED

Job Schedule:

Mon 02:30 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus partners by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Receive, prioritize, and dispatch calls for service, alarms, and incidents to appropriate personnel while maintaining accurate logs and records.
• Monitor communications systems, cameras, alarms, and/or access control systems; relay relevant information to responders and campus contacts.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around campus buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas as assigned; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of security‑related experience.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
