Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced - Part Time in Washington, DC. The role provides reliable hours with an anchor shift and opportunities to pick up additional shifts via our scheduling platform.

You will greet visitors, monitor access, and respond to incidents while maintaining logs. The position requires 2+ years of security experience and a high school diploma; CPR and X-ray screening are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of security-related experience.
• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification preferred.
• X-ray screening experience preferred.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Background check and drug screening as required.

Responsibilities

• Greet students, faculty, staff, visitors and contractors at the front desk and enforce site-specific security procedures.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying IDs, issue visitor credentials, and direct guests to campus resources.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and calls for assistance following established procedures.
• Maintain accurate logs, reports and records of visitor activity and security events.
• Communicate security concerns to Allied Universal leadership and campus personnel.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Reception Ambassador in Washington, DC, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.15 / Hour

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service at a front desk by greeting students, faculty, staff, visitors, and contractors while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures and policies.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying identification, following visitor sign‑in procedures, issuing visitor credentials as authorized, and directing guests to appropriate campus resources.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, calls for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and records of visitor activity, incidents, deliveries, and other front‑desk security‑related events.
• Communicate professionally with campus personnel, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership regarding security‑related concerns, policy questions, and unusual activity.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 2 years of security‑related experience.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• X‑ray screening experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
