Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an experienced Security Officer - Patrol Operations in Tempe, AZ to monitor and protect commercial real estate and healthcare locations. You will conduct routine patrols, support access control, respond to security-related concerns, and deliver exceptional customer service.

This full-time role requires a valid driver's license and offers pay of $19.25 per hour with a focus on safety, reliability, and teamwork in a dynamic, client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, employees, patients, and vendors by following site policies and procedures.
• Respond to incidents, medical-related calls, and access concerns, notifying appropriate contacts or emergency personnel as directed.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of property, parking facilities, and exterior grounds to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain logs and incident reports.
• Observe hazards and report issues to maintain a professional and welcoming environment.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, employees, patients, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, medical-related calls, access concerns, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency personnel as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial property, office areas, parking facilities, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and daily activity records in accordance with site procedures.
• Observe and report potential hazards, facility issues, and unusual activity to appropriate personnel while supporting a professional and welcoming environment.

Minimum Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
