Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Full Time Security Officer in New York to provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors while enforcing site policies and responding to emergencies. The role includes regular patrols, monitoring access, and reporting hazards to maintain a safe, secure environment.

The position offers a consistent night shift schedule Sunday through Thursday with overnight hours and a pay rate of $18.74 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements items from the HTML: guard card or license is preferred; access control and badge experience; alarm panel experience; customer service experience; 18+ (21+ for armed) ; high school diploma or equivalent; background check; drug screen; licensing requirements vary; valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of manufacturing areas, office spaces, parking areas, entrances, and the facility perimeter, reporting unusual conditions or policy concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site requirements, helping to deter unauthorized entry and maintaining accurate logs when assigned.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Observe and report potential hazards, equipment concerns, or suspicious activity to site leadership in accordance with established procedures.

What You'll Do

Minimum Requirements

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
