Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring for a part-time security position at a manufacturing site in Torrance. The role pays $20.60 per hour and covers weekend shifts (Sat-Sun, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM).

You will perform security procedures, patrol duties, access control, and incident reporting to protect people and property. Minimum requirements include being 18+ (21+ for armed), a high school diploma or equivalent, background check, drug screening, potential licensing per local law, and a valid driver’s license for

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors at a manufacturing and industrial location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas, access points, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, documenting visitor and contractor entry, and reporting unauthorized access attempts.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol documentation, and communicate relevant security-related information to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
