Allied Universal in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a part-time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol) to protect client sites across Tech/Media/Telecom environments. You will monitor access, deter incidents, and deliver professional customer service.

Qualifications

• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Have access control or badge experience, preferred.
• Possess a guard card or license, preferred.
• Have customer service experience, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific security procedures and access-control policies.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and credentialing processes to maintain controlled entry to critical areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies with calm, professional handling and escalate as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior/exterior areas and report concerns.
• Complete accurate daily activity and incident reports and shift handoffs.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at a technology and communications location.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and credentialing processes in accordance with site procedures, helping to maintain controlled entry to critical areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns and coordinating with appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift handoff communications in alignment with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have access control or badge experience, preferred.
• Possess a guard card or license, preferred.
• Have customer service experience, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
