Job summary

Allied Universal, Milpitas, CA, is seeking a Security Officer for a part-time unarmed patrol checkpoint. You will protect clients in Tech/Media/Telecom environments by patrolling, monitoring access points, and delivering courteous service.

You’ll contribute to a safe, welcoming workplace while adhering to site policies and procedures. Flexible scheduling is offered with opportunities to learn and grow, including shift swapping through our Claim a Shift platform.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor or contractor access per procedures.
• Respond to incidents calmly and document activities per procedures.
• Prepare clear reports of patrols, incidents, and observations.

• Tue: 02:00 PM - 10:30 PM
• Wed: 02:00 PM - 10:30 PM
• Sat: 03:00 PM - 11:30 PM

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entry points, loading areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor, contractor, and delivery access in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities according to established procedures.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Possess customer service experience, preferred.
• Hold CPR certification, preferred.
• Possess a guard card or license, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
