Allied Universal in Sterling, VA is hiring a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) to monitor and protect clients across tech/media/telecom sites. The role emphasizes customer service, visible presence, and adherence to site policies.

The position offers flexible scheduling through our Claim a Shift platform, pays $23.11 per hour, and requires minimum qualifications such as a high school diploma, background check, and drug screen. You’ll join a collaborative team committed to integrity and safety.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsabilités

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology and media location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office spaces, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and report unauthorized entry attempts, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities as required.
• Complete detailed activity reports, incident reports, and shift communications while maintaining a professional presence in a dynamic technology workplace.
