Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Unarmed Patrol Security Officer in Sterling, VA to protect clients in a technology-forward environment. You will perform routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, assist with visitor management, and document incidents to support a safe workplace.

We offer flexible daytime shifts and the opportunity to use our Claim a Shift platform to tailor your schedule. Prior security or customer service experience is preferred, with a guard card/license and CPR

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a guard card/license preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background investigation will be conducted as per law.
• Drug screening may be required.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors and follow security procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of interior/exterior areas and perimeter to identify concerns.
• Monitor access and verify credentials; assist with visitor management and deliveries.
• Respond to incidents calmly and document observations for action by appropriate personnel.
• Maintain awareness of conditions and complete activity reports per procedure.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a technology and media location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and the business perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or potential concerns.
• Monitor access to the location, verify credentials as directed by site-specific policies, and assist with visitor management and delivery procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document observations and promptly communicate concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Support a professional environment by maintaining awareness of changing conditions, completing required activity reports, and following Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
