Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer in Cheyney, PA. You will perform routine patrols, maintain a visible security presence, and support a welcoming campus environment while delivering excellent customer service to students and staff.

Schedule includes night shifts; pay is $17.95 per hour. You will document observations using tablet technology and follow site policies to deter incidents and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests by carrying out security-related procedures and campus policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner following campus protocols.
• Conduct regular patrols of buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and report concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction and event support.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and communicate incidents and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report observed concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction, access control procedures, and campus event support in accordance with site requirements.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and promptly communicate incidents, hazards, and maintenance-related concerns to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
