Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer for an unarmed patrol visibility role in Philadelphia, PA. You will provide customer service, patrol assigned areas, and respond to incidents while maintaining a visible presence to deter security concerns.

In this position you will support campus operations, follow site procedures, and collaborate with students, staff, and visitors to ensure a safe, welcoming environment. The schedule is designed to build reliability and flexibility.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background check in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• Driver's license may be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures and campus policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally per campus protocols.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, residences, parking facilities, walkways and perimeters.
• Observe and report unusual activity, hazards, access concerns, or policy violations with appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control, visitor directions, and documentation of daily activities and incidents.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $17.25 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Thur 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following campus protocols and contacting appropriate resources as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned academic buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
• Observe and report unusual activity, hazardous conditions, access concerns, and policy violations to the appropriate personnel; help to deter unauthorized activity through visible presence and professional engagement.
• Assist with access control, visitor directions, campus event coverage, and documentation of daily activities and incidents in accordance with site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
