Allied Universal in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time, Unarmed Patrol Access Verification). You will protect campus clients across Education and other sectors, while building a schedule that fits your life.

Qualifications

• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors following campus policies and emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, residence areas, walkways, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to identify hazards.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations calmly and according to site procedures.
• Monitor access points, direct visitors, and report unauthorized access to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear reports and communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and campus representatives.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, campus policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.


• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, walkways, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or hazards.


• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site-specific procedures.


• Monitor access points and assist with directing visitors, providing information, and reporting unauthorized access or policy concerns to appropriate personnel.


• Prepare clear, accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance concerns to Allied Universal leadership and campus representatives.

Minimum Requirements

• Access control/badge experience is preferred.


• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
