Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, seeks a part-time Security Officer in Chicago, IL. You will provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors, conduct patrols, monitor access, and respond to incidents in healthcare facilities.

Hours are Tue and Wed 10:00 PM–06:00 AM; pay rate is $22.25 per hour. A high school diploma and background check are required; CPR and alarm panel experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Possess supervisory experience.
• Possess one or more years of law enforcement experience, two or more years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or three or more years of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Possess CPR certification, preferred.
• Possess alarm panel experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout healthcare facilities, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Monitor access to designated areas, observe and report unusual activity, and help to deter unauthorized entry and disruptive behavior.
• Document incidents, patrol activities, and policy violations accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and location representatives.

What You'll Do

Minimum Requirements

• Possess supervisory experience.
• Possess one or more years of law enforcement experience, two or more years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or three or more years of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Possess CPR certification, preferred.
• Possess alarm panel experience, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
