Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, is hiring for a part-time security role in the Ashland area. The position pays $21.00 per hour with an evening schedule (Wed and Thur 4:00 PM–12:00 AM).

Responsibilities include assisting employees and visitors, patrolling premises, monitoring entrances, responding to incidents, and documenting activities. Preferred qualifications include a guard card, alarm panel experience, CPR, and prior customer service experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check conducted under federal/state/local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Guard card/license preferred; licensing rules vary by state/locality.
• A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.
• Ability to comfortably use a computer or tablet.
• Allied Universal may review criminal histories in compliance with laws.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local regulations.

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel in line with site policies.
• Carry out regular and random unarmed patrols of office, production, warehouse, parking, and perimeter areas to identify issues.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor credentials per site procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and emergencies and notify the appropriate contacts.
• Prepare clear activity and incident reports and communicate with leadership and client representatives.

• Wed 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Thur 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of technology-focused office, production, warehouse, parking, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or policy concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and help maintain orderly entry and exit processes.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Prepare clear activity, incident, and patrol reports while communicating professionally with Allied Universal leadership and client representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
