Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer at a technology location in West Columbia, SC. You will provide customer service, perform unarmed patrols, monitor access, and respond to incidents while maintaining a professional presence.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of law enforcement experience or 2 years security supervision/management experience or 3 years security experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• X-ray screening experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as required by law.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories as per laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors at a technology location by following site policies and, when appropriate, emergency response procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, loading docks, and perimeter areas to identify unusual activity or security concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor, vendor, and contractor authorization according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and alarms in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and report concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Support a professional, welcoming environment while deterring unauthorized activity and remaining aware of changing site conditions.

Sat: 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM

Sun: 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and/or contractors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, loading docks, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, unauthorized access, and/or facility concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor, vendor, and contractor authorization in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; document observations and report security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Support a professional and welcoming environment while helping to deter unauthorized activity and maintaining awareness of changing site conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security‑related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security‑related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• X‑ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
