Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer in West Columbia, SC. You will protect client sites across technology and telecom locations, maintaining a visible security presence and delivering excellent customer service.

The role emphasizes flexible scheduling with shifts including day and night hours, access control, and incident response. A background check and drug screen may be required where permitted by law.

Qualifications

• 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor/manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, background investigation per laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories as allowed by law.
• A drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating information to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entry points, loading areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership while supporting a professional, orderly environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
