Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time, Unarmed) in West Columbia, SC. You will patrol facilities, monitor access, and respond to incidents while delivering excellent customer service and using digital tools to document activity.

This role offers flexible scheduling, on-site work, and opportunities to grow within a leading security and facility services company. Prior security experience and comfort with computers are preferred for success in this position.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, or telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, business areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, assisting with visitor directions and reporting unusual conditions to appropriate site contacts.
• Complete accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

What You'll Do

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
