Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer - Unarmed in West Columbia, SC. You will patrol assigned areas, deter security incidents, support access control, and report events using on-site tablets while delivering professional customer service.

Minimum 2 years of security experience, high school diploma or equivalent; background check and drug screen required. Driving positions require a valid driver’s license. Pay rate is $17.51 per hour.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, or telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, business areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, assisting with visitor directions and reporting unusual conditions to appropriate site contacts.
• Complete accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
