Job summary

Allied Universal’s Bloomington, MN location is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for the Screening Desk. You will welcome visitors, manage access control and badges, monitor alarm panels, and deliver outstanding customer service in a technology, media and telecommunications site.

Qualifications

• Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screening as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Welcome visitors and manage access control and badge issuance.
• Greet visitors professionally and verify identification and authorization.
• Monitor front desk activity, alarms, and access control systems; report issues.
• Respond calmly to incidents following established procedures and contact emergency services when needed.
• Direct guests to authorised areas and deter unauthorized access.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Fri 09:00 PM - 05:00 AM
• Sat 09:00 PM - 05:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Greet visitors professionally, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate visitor and contractor records.
• Monitor front desk activity, incoming calls, alarms, and electronic access-control systems; promptly report unusual activity, access concerns, and maintenance issues to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and contacting emergency services and/or site contacts when needed.
• Help to deter unauthorized access by maintaining a professional presence at the front desk, controlling entry in accordance with site policies, and directing guests to authorized areas.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
