Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Reception) in Bloomington, MN. You will greet visitors, manage access, monitor security systems, and respond to alarms to protect people and property.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as per laws.
• Drug screen to be completed.
• Licensing requirements may apply.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Operate the front desk by greeting and screening visitors, verifying identification and access authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining access records.
• Monitor entry activity, visitor management systems, alarms, cameras, and other security equipment, reporting irregularities or access concerns.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner, escalating when needed.
• Support a professional reception environment by answering phones, directing inquiries, coordinating with site contacts, and deter unauthorized access.

What You’ll Do:

• Operate the front desk by greeting and screening visitors, verifying identification and access authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining accurate visitor and access records.
• Monitor entry activity, visitor management systems, alarms, cameras, and other security-related equipment, reporting irregularities or access concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters to appropriate personnel when needed.
• Support a professional reception environment by answering phones, directing inquiries, coordinating with site contacts, and helping to deter unauthorized access.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
