Job summary

Allied Universal in Edgerton, KS is seeking a part-time Security Officer responsible for visitor screening, access control, and reporting security concerns at a technology, media, and telecom site. You will maintain a welcoming, professional environment while deterring incidents and delivering courteous service.

Day/evening shifts available with a flexible schedule. Requires 18+ years, high school diploma, background check, drug screen, and state licensing as applicable; driving positions

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check conducted per federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws and may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific access screening procedures.
• Screen individuals and items at entry points, escalating prohibited items and concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Verify credentials, visitor authorization, and delivery documentation while maintaining logs.
• Respond to incidents calmly and follow site protocols while communicating with leadership and client representatives.
• Conduct regular patrols of screening areas and perimeter to deter unauthorized access and identify concerns.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific access screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a technology, media, and telecommunications location.
• Screen individuals and permitted items at designated entry points in accordance with established procedures, escalating prohibited items, access concerns, and unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Verify credentials, visitor authorization, and delivery documentation while maintaining accurate screening-related logs and records.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific protocols and communicating with Allied Universal leadership and client representatives as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, access points, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
