Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Screening Associate) in Chester, VA. You will help maintain a welcoming, secure environment by monitoring access points, screening visitors and packages, and reporting security concerns.

The role offers flexible scheduling across day and night shifts to fit your availability. Responsibilities include providing excellent customer service, verifying credentials, and responding to incidents with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access screening requirements, and emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
• Screen individuals and personal belongings using designated screening equipment and procedures, escalating prohibited items, access concerns, and policy violations to appropriate site contacts.
• Verify credentials, badges, and authorization for entry into controlled areas; maintain accurate visitor and screening-related records as required by site policy.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of identified screening areas, entry points, and surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

What You'll Do

Minimum Requirements

• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
