Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer – Patrol Badge Control in Sterling, VA. You will monitor assigned areas, perform unarmed patrols, manage access control, and provide courteous service to employees and visitors.

This role offers a flexible schedule with Friday and Saturday 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shifts. Candidates should have at least 1 year of security experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $23.18 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Fri: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sat: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, access points, parking areas, exterior perimeter, and other assigned areas to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to assigned areas, verify credentials in accordance with site-specific procedures, and assist with visitor and contractor entry processes.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, service requests, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document observations and notifications according to site procedures.
• Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports, communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership, and support a professional environment for all occupants.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A Guard Card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
