Allied Universal in Sterling, VA is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) to monitor a commercial real estate location, maintain a visible presence, and provide customer service to tenants and visitors.

Qualifications

• Guard card or license preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; verify credentials, maintain required logs, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual conditions.
• Document incidents, observations, and shift activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
