Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Full Time Unarmed Patrol) in Sterling, VA to protect people and property at a technology/data site. You will perform unarmed patrols, monitor access and respond to incidents, while delivering excellent customer service in a professional manner.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service while following security procedures, site policies, and emergency response when needed.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner, escalating according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials, and maintain logs.
• Communicate professionally with employees, contractors, visitors, and emergency responders.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology and data infrastructure location.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation.
• Communicate professionally with employees, contractors, visitors, and emergency responders while supporting site operations and security-related protocols.
