Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time Unarmed Perimeter Patrol) in New York, NY. You will safeguard clients across government and allied sectors, with a flexible schedule and the Claim a Shift platform to explore new roles.

As an Unarmed Security Officer, you will monitor assigned areas, deter incidents, and provide excellent customer service while collaborating with site personnel and adhering to company values.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations, to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed by site policies, and maintain accurate activity, incident, and patrol documentation.
• Maintain a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized activity while treating all individuals with dignity, respect, and appropriate customer service.
