Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Unarmed Security Officer in New York, NY to protect clients across government and other sites. The role emphasizes customer service, visible patrols, incident response, and log/report routine activities.

Candidates should have a NYS Security Guard license, at least 1 year of security experience, and be 18+ (21+ for armed). A background check and drug screen are required where permitted by law; driving duties need a valid license when applicable.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, residents, visitors, and staff while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, building perimeters, entrances, common areas, and exterior grounds to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and contacting appropriate personnel or emergency services when needed.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site policies, helping to maintain an orderly environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required logs for incidents, patrols, observations, and security-related activities.

• Mon 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Wed 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Thur 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

What You’ll Do

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
