Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time, Unarmed Patrol Visibility) in New York, NY. You will patrol ferry terminals and transportation facilities, deter incidents, and provide excellent customer service while upholding Allied Universal’s people-first culture.

Qualifications

• A background check will be conducted in accordance with laws.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and staff by following site policies and emergency procedures.
• Respond to incidents calmly and communicate observations to site contacts and emergency personnel.
• Conduct regular foot patrols of terminal areas, boarding locations, waiting areas, and access points to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report unusual conditions and policy violations.
• Maintain detailed activity logs and incident reports per site requirements.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at ferry terminals and related transportation facilities.
• Respond to incidents, passenger concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, promptly communicating observations to appropriate site contacts and emergency personnel.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of terminal areas, boarding locations, waiting areas, access points, and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe passenger and vehicle activity in accordance with site procedures, reporting unusual conditions, hazards, and policy violations.
• Maintain detailed and accurate activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
