Job summary

Allied Universal in Blythewood, SC is seeking a Part Time Security Officer for a distribution site. You will monitor areas, patrol, control access, and provide customer service to shoppers and staff.

The role offers a flexible part-time schedule (Wed and Thu 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM) with a starting pay of $16.50 per hour. Candidates need at least 1 year security experience, HS diploma, and ability to pass background checks and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and staff by following security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents calmly and address customer concerns, disturbances, medical situations, or suspicious activity.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, exits, and common areas.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor and employee activity, and report hazards or policy violations.

You will assist with access control and badge procedures, use computer or tablet systems as needed, and provide outstanding customer service. Pay Rate: $16.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Thur 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store associates by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including customer concerns, disturbances, medical situations, and/or suspicious activity.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, exits, common areas, and perimeter areas, to help to deter unwanted activity.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor and employee activity, and report hazards, policy violations, and security-related concerns according to site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
