Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer for our Distribution site in Charleston, SC. You will provide customer service, monitor access points, conduct patrols, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents while following site policies and procedures.

One year of security experience is preferred. You must be 18+ (21+ for armed roles where applicable), possess a high school diploma, and be prepared for background checks and a drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency responses when appropriate.

• Conduct regular/unarmed patrols of distribution areas, loading docks, parking areas, and facility perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and vehicle traffic, verify entry, and report unusual conditions or policy violations.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations accurately and communicate with site leadership.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and drivers. You will communicate professionally, document observations, and provide customer service while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first values with integrity and teamwork.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Fri 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of distribution areas, loading docks, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and vehicle traffic, verify authorized entry, and report unusual conditions or policy violations.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations accurately while communicating relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
