Job summary

Allied Universal in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a part-time Campus Patrol Security Officer to monitor and safeguard campus sites, deter incidents, and provide courteous service to students, staff and visitors.

As a qualified candidate you have a NYS Security Guard License, at least one year of security experience, and comfort using a computer or tablet. This role offers flexible day/evening shifts and an opportunity to join a nationwide security team.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State Security Guard License.
• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate a computer or tablet.
• Be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, student or visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate campus contacts and/or emergency services as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, classrooms, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and report security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures, assisting with directions and maintaining awareness of campus operations.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately; complete required reports and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
