Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for an educational location in New York, NY. You will patrol campuses, maintain a visible presence, assist with access control, and deliver excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

You will prepare incident reports and respond calmly to alarms and incidents, supporting a safe and welcoming campus environment while adhering to site procedures and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background investigation as required by laws.
• Allied Universal may consider qualified applicants with criminal histories.
• Subject to a drug screen where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $20.40 - $21.40 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Sat 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus community members by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities as required.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, grounds, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction, access-control procedures, and campus event support in accordance with site requirements.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports regarding incidents, observations, patrols, and other security-related activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
