How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and drivers by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Control access to the chemical and petrochemical location by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor entry records, and following established access authorization procedures.
• Monitor entry points, alarms, cameras, and communications equipment, and report unauthorized access attempts, unusual activity, and facility concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, including access‑related issues, alarms, and emergency notifications.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter, documenting observations and helping to deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 6 months of security‑related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
