Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer in Newport Beach, CA for a full-time unarmed mall patrol. You will perform vehicle and foot patrols, deter incidents, and assist visitors and staff with service—maintaining a visible security presence.

A valid driver’s license is required; bike experience is preferred and CPR is a plus. Swing shift hours are 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, with pay at $22 per hour and full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• The ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Experience using handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or a baton is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen are required.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, retailers, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the shopping center, including common areas, storefronts, parking areas, and the perimeter.
• Monitor activity at the location and report suspicious conditions, hazards, policy violations, and/or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established procedures.
• Help maintain an orderly environment by providing directions, assisting with access-related questions, and documenting daily activities and incidents.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• The ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Experience using handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or a baton is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
